Allmendinger Baffled by Crashes
RuSport's AJ Allmendinger said he doesn't know how to stop crashing and ruining his races
The American hit the wall on his own for the third successive race in yesterday's inaugural Champ Car Grand Prix of San Jose.
He lost the chance of his first victory in the series after hitting the wall just eight laps from home at the last round at Edmonton and crashed just six laps shy of the finish in Toronto.
Allmendinger hit the Turn Four wall on the 13th lap of yesterday's San Jose race, limping back to the pits before retiring.
"I've clearly got to fix the problem, but I'm not sure how to just yet," Allmendinger said. "To say that I'm tired of making those kinds of mistakes is a huge understatement.
"To say I'm disappointed is a huge understatement, because these results are not acceptable.
"I know I can drive the car fast. I qualified well, but I've got work to do. I really wanted to win this one for everyone here in San Jose, so I'm sorry I didn't bring it home."
