Spa WEC, Jerez MotoGP

Moto3 - Jerez: Oliveira takes second off Kent with six laps left, then outbrakes Quartararo for the lead at the second attempt.

Moto3 - Jerez: Two more changes of lead, Kent back in front, nine laps to go. It would be amazing if this didn't come down to the very last corner.

ETCC - Hungaroring: Borkovic still leads and he's set the fastest lap. Race-one winner Ferenc Ficza lies second, 1.5s down, with Petr Fulin and Mato Homola lying further back for a SEAT 1-2-3-4.

Having adjudicated the Artemyev contact with great vim, the stewards have taken a more relaxed view of an incident outside the top 10 between Daniel Conrad (whose startling resemblance to Leo Sayer has provoked amusement in some quarters) and Galip Atar. This will be investigated after the race. Will the verdict make Daniel feel like dancing?

Moto3 - Jerez: Quartararo spends a short time back in first, but then Kent outbrakes both the French rookie and Oliveira to go from third to first!

Only for half a lap though: Quartararo is back in front at Dry Sack.

Oliveira, Binder and Vazquez give chase.

Through the long corners towards the end of the lap, Kent is back through into the lead.

Three lead changes in less than a lap - hello Moto3.

Moto3 - Jerez: Oliveira retakes the lead, and Kent is on his way back - now third behind Quartararo.

ETCC - Hungaroring: As surely as night follows day and eggs don't bounce, race control takes a poor view of Alexandr Artemyev's first-corner antics and he's handed a drive-through penalty. Time elapsed between the announcement that the incident was under review and notification of penalty? 34 seconds.

Moto3 - Jerez: This is really kicking off now, with 12 laps left.

Quartararo hustled his way back into the lead in a move that cost Kent momentum and dropped the championship leader from first to fifth.

Binder, Oliveira and Vazquez now split Quartararo from Kent.

WTCC - Hungaroring: The second European Touring Car Cup race is under way and there's been contact at the first corner, of course. Polesitter Michal Matejovsky's BMW was assaulted from behind by fellow front-row starter Alexandr Artemyev's SEAT at the first corner. Artemyev seemed to be trying to take a short-cut across the kerb and grass on the inside and practically T-boned the BMW. A drive-through penalty will no doubt ensue. Dusan Borkovic is currently leading, having started fourth.

Moto3 - Jerez: Quartararo stuffs himself back into second place, and has to work very hard to keep it. That's giving Kent a very, very slight breather.

Moto3 - Jerez: Oliveira retakes second from Quartararo and is onto Kent's tail. Vazquez is getting ever closer to Binder too. Sixteen laps to go.

For about half a lap, Kent looked like he might be poised to do his 'run away and hide' trick but Oliveira is all over the back of him now.

Moto3 - Jerez: Quartararo gets up to second, then makes a bit of a mistake and has to work hard to fend off the Ajo pair for a moment. But he regains momentum without losing touch with Kent.

This could be a five-way fight soon, as Kent's Leopard Racing team-mate Efren Vazquez has made it past Fenati and broken clear of that pack.

WTCC - Hungaroring: After his shunt in qualifying yesterday Gabriele Tarquini has had to change engines, which carries the penalty of starting at the back of the grid for the next race. Happily, this was where he was due to start anyway after failing to set a time.

Moto3 - Jerez: Quartararo is in a hurry to get himself back to the front - he's giving Kent plenty of hassle for second.

That might've given Kent some inspiration - he now dives past Oliveira into Dry Sack. Will he now escape again?

Hanika, another Ajo man, just had a high-side tumble and hopped back on his bike again. Bold stuff.

Moto3 - Jerez: Oliveira, riding for the Ajo team that nearly took Jack Miller to the title last year, is hanging on in the lead on lap three, with Kent on his tail and Quartararo scrapping with Oliveira's team-mate Binder for third.

WTCC - Hungaroring: The air horns have been in full cry for local WTCC star Norbert Michelisz since 8am, and fellow Hungarian Ferenc Ficza has just given them even more to cheer about. He rose from fifth on the grid to prevail in an entertaining European Touring Car Cup thrash after polesitter Dusan Borkovic was handed a drive-through penalty for contact with Petr Fulin while they battled for the lead. The top five in qualifying all drove SEAT Leons.

Moto3 - Jerez: Valentino Rossi's protege Fenati - who rose to prominence by winning here in the wet in only his second GP start three years ago - has muscled his way up to fifth.

Quartararo took the lead from Oliveira for a second at the Dry Sack but couldn't hold it. Kent is now right with them, as is Binder.

MotoGP - Jerez: First up today at an already-packed (but not as hot as yesterday) Jerez is Moto3.

The start of something big here as Fabio Quartararo has pole position.

MotoGP tweaked its rules a little to get the then-15-year-old Frenchman into the Moto3 field this year after his stunning run to back-to-back titles in the Spanish CEV series, Europe's hotbed of emerging motorbike talent.

Quartararo, who's now turned 16, has been rapid from the outset and he starts on pole today in only his fourth GP.

Alongside him is Danny Kent. The Brit is starting to run away with this championship having run away with the last two races.

Miguel Oliveira, whose qualifying session ended with young Italian Stefano Manzi running into the back of him in the practice start area, completes the front row.
