Phillip Island MotoGP, DTM, Euro F3 and FR3.5 finales

Molina improves again, new benchmark is a 1m32.746s. All 24 drivers have now recorded times, as we approach the halfway mark.

Molina improves to a 1m33.100s, but is bettered by Green on a 1m33.049s.

Gotz goes fastest of the nine drivers to set a time in the first nine minutes, ahead of Paffett and Martin.

While Wehrlein hasn't started a race from pole, his consistency has been impressive. His average qualifying position is seventh, ahead of Green fractionally, the next best drivers average 10th, rounded up from 9.something.

The most-likely new polesitter would actually be the new champion - Wehrlein - who has qualified second on two occasions.

Currently on the list - in championship order - it's Ekstrom, Mortara, Green (two), Spengler (two), Wittmann, Martin, Rockenfeller, Farfus, Wickens, Glock, Vietoris, Molina and Auer.

Drivers are in their cars, getting ready for the 20-minute session. It's been a big hit this year, as part of the format revamp. Big pressure, frenetic finishes and calling the results "varied" is like saying it gets cold in the alps in winter.
Porsche has brought some of its classic race and road machinery here from Stuttgart, and assembled an eclectic group of drivers to turn demo laps.

Another slight DTM delay, qualifying will now start at 11:55am local time, so 11 minutes from now.

The chequered flag is out. Rowland is in provisonal pole ahead of Vaxiviere, but we could be set for late changes.

De Vries has extended his advantage, while Orudzhev has moved into P2. Celis Jr remains third, from Ellinas, Rowland and Latifi.

Nyck de Vries moves 0.399s clear of Alfonso Celis Jr into the provisional pole spot. Dean Stoneman has also improved to fourth.

Nice bit of teamwork there from BMW pair da Costa and Tomczyk. They'll be out on track in about 13 minutes for the final DTM qualifying session of the year.

In a wet third heat in Italy, Latvian Reinis Nitiss set the fastest time, ahead of Johan Kristoffersson and Andreas Bakkerud. Kristoffersson now sits top of the Intermediate Classification.

However, the story of the heat surrounded Petter Solberg, who first jumped the start of the last race and then forgot to take his second joker lap as penalty. Having jokered on lap three, Solberg became involved in a final lap battle with Timur Timerzyanov and Timmy Hansen, but was docked 30 seconds from his race time for forgetting to take his second joker. Timerzyanov currently lies second overall with one qualifying heat to run, ahead of Hansen Bakkerud, Nitiss and Solberg.

Toomas Heikkinen crashed out in the first corner of his heat race, while Anton Marklund recovered from a first corner 360 degree spin. Guerlain Chicherit also didn't make it past Turn 1 of his race.
MotoGP
As well as biffing a seagull into heaven and depriving Rossi of a podium on the last lap, Iannone also left his Ducati team-mate Andrea Dovizioso standing today. The elder Italian was half a minute back in 13th and admitted his performance was "embarrassing". Dovizioso said he simply never got a set-up that worked at Phillip Island.

With the safety car boards and yellow flags out, Calderon collected Lorandi at the hairpin.

Of this season's regular frontrunners, Tom Dillmann and Dean Stoneman will be aiming to make up the most ground on their second set of wet tyres as they reside in 10th and 11th positions respectively.

And we have a safety car, due to what's left of Ferrucci's front wing being strewn across the circuit.

MotoGP
Ducati has just sent out a picture of the moment Andrea Iannone hit a seagull while leading the MotoGP race earlier. I'm a bit too fond of animals (even seagulls, who aren't always the kindest of creatures) to feel alright about posting it in here, but if you're curious, it's only going to be a quick google away.

Iannone escaped the incident to finish third. The seagull fared worse.
Alfonso Celis Jr remains on provisional pole for AVF, thanks to his superb early lap of 1m47.056s. McLaren-backed Nyck de Vries is second, ahead of Rowland, Ellinas, Orudzhev and Vaxiviere.

Restart, with 7m45s remaining. Rosenqvist gets the jump again. He's had a bit of practice, not just today but during the season.
The FR3.5 qualifying session for race two at Jerez has reached its mid-session calm, when the majority of the field pits for new tyres.
