Vinales had closed on Dovizioso under braking for the last corner but ran wide, giving Petrucci chance to pass on the run to the line and handing Dovizioso a half-second advantage too.

Crutchlow has made a bit of progress and is now up to 12th, hassling Pedrosa for 11th.
The other Espargaro, Aleix, is still firmly last after his jump-start penalty.

Petrucci takes a look at Vinales too on the front straight. It all gets a bit wild under braking for the first corner and he stays third.
Dovizioso is actually making a bit of a break here. Vinales has his hands full with Rossi and Petrucci - and Petrucci dives past Rossi into third!
Meanwhile Dovizioso's team-mate Lorenzo is now down to ninth behind Iannone's Suzuki.
And once ahead, Dovizioso immediately does the best first sector of the race so far.
After some cagey laps, Dovizioso goes for it - he drafts down the outside of Vinales and takes the lead into San Donato.
Pirro fell back in the early laps, but he's just taken 10th from Pedrosa.

Still very little to choose between the top four. With 11 laps to go, about 0.8s covers Vinales, Dovizioso, Rossi and Petrucci up front - one Spaniard leading three Italians.

Zarco got past Lorenzo on the last lap but lost the place again. This time he makes it stick and takes seventh.
Lorenzo spoke yesterday about feeling like he would have good pace for the first part of the race, with the second half a bit more of a question mark. He's just been passed by Zarco, who has shown excellent tyre-management skills so far in his MotoGP career.
That was a Ducati horsepower move from Bautista, who shot past Marquez as they passed the pits.
Now Marquez loses fifth place to the 2016 Ducati of Bautista!

Marquez can't make any headway, though. He's now 2.6s behind Petrucci in fifth and under pressure from Bautista, Lorenzo, Zarco, Iannone, Pedrosa, Pirro, Rabat, Redding and Crutchlow.
After falling away briefly, Rossi is closing back in on Vinales and Dovizioso, with Petrucci - brilliantly - tagging along with him.
Lorenzo loses another place, he's now down to seventh behind Bautista.

Zarco was tipped as the man to beat on race pace by Crutchlow yesterday. He's just moved past Iannone into eighth with 15 laps to go.

Dovizioso is within inches of Vinales' rear tyre into the first corner. They now have a very slight gap back to Rossi too.

While that was going on, the front four - Vinales, Dovizioso, Rossi and Petrucci - have pulled out a little bit of daylight over Marquez and the rest of the lead crowd.
Lorenzo runs extremely wide, that's an easy move into fifth for Marquez.

Big movers so far are Petrucci going from ninth to fourth, and Iannone, who has climbed from 16th to seventh in these first five laps.
Dovizioso takes second off Rossi once more, and holds it despite running a touch wide.

Petrucci gets ahead of Lorenzo to put the Pramac Ducati up to fourth.

Now Dovizioso takes second from Rossi.
Vinales has another go and gets the lead under braking once more. He runs very slightly wide but doesn't leave Rossi enough daylight.
