IndyCar - Texas: Another yellow for a track inspection - apparently someone has suffered a cut rear tyre, although it's not clear who. But it sounds like a busy afternoon ahead for the engineers, with several drivers getting very animated over the radio about the lack of grip up high.
In the meantime there are 10 minutes left, and last year's race winner Justin Wilson has only completed nine laps. No word on what the problem might be. Andretti is still P1.

IndyCar - Texas: Haven't reported much because there hasn't been much to report, but we're under yellows for a track inspection. There was another yellow for the same reason a few minutes ago. Current session leader: Marco Andretti.
In other livery news, Tony Kanaan is running a new Sunoco/Turbo paint scheme that makes his car look a lot like what the second Coyne car has looked like this year. Fortunately that entry also has a new livery, which is a relief: AUTOSPORT did not fancy spending the weekend confusing Kanaan with Pippa Mann. It's hard enough trying to remember who is in the Panther car this week.

NASCAR - Pocono: The news everyone at the very wet track knew was coming: all Friday sessions are cancelled due to rain.
That means Sunday's starting order will be set on championship positions, with Jimmie Johnson leading Carl Edwards, Clint Bowyer and Matt Kenseth away.
Two practice sessions are scheduled for Saturday, so driver will still two hours of track time for race preparation.

WTCC - Moscow: We had a bit of action from the World Touring Car Championship earlier, with the series having its regular short Friday test ahead of its first appearance at Moscow Raceway.
Yvan Muller's RML Chevrolet was the pacesetter on a drying track.

IndyCar - Texas: You might have read that Sebastian Saavedra has to work off his $30,000 fine for flipping the bird at Marco Andretti last weekend by making public appearances for IndyCar. AUTOSPORT has done some digging, and it seems that the Dragon driver will need to make six appearances to square things off. That's $5000 a pop, in case you want to hire him for your kid's party.
AUTOSPORT also asked how many appearances it would take if WE flipped the bird at Andretti, and were told 100. At $300 an appearance, that's weirdly flattering.

NASCAR - Pocono: As drivers wait for the rain to clear, last week's restart penalty for Jimmie Johnson at Dover is dominating their media briefings.
Johnson remains adamant he didn't jump the start, Juan Pablo Montoya just went nowhere. Montoya denies tricking Johnson into copping a penalty.

IndyCar - Texas: Helio Castroneves and Marco Andretti kept low profiles amid the mayhem of Detroit, but that proved the best tactic as the two are tied at the top of the points standings with 206 apiece. Reigning champion Ryan Hunter-Reay remains a close third with 191 points.

IndyCar - Texas: Herta driver Alex Tagliani is chasing a hat-trick of Texas pole positions, after leading the cars away in 2011 (for the non-random-grid half of that twin event) and '12. However he is still yet to win an IndyCar Series race at any circuit. His Elkhart Lake 2004 Champ Car success is a long time ago...
Brit Justin Wilson took the Texas chequered flag last year for Dale Coyne Racing to win his first race on an oval and for only his second IndyCar victory. He capitalised on a late mistake by Graham Rahal to take the win.
IndyCar - Texas: AUTOSPORT has now had a chance to sample all three of the aforementioned Andretti sandwiches, and just between us, isn't sold on any of them. This could be a simple culture clash, as US sandwiches can be hard work for those not used to them. In the meantime, AUTOSPORT is taking the best bits from each to create its own John Andretti Window World special.

NASCAR - Pocono: The weather is currently throwing a spanner in the works for NASCAR. Practice should have taken place by now, but a rain storm means the only vehicle getting any mileage is the new Air Titan track-drying contraption.
This weekend the bulk of the European action kicks off on Saturday, so the Friday focus is on America, where the IndyCar Series and NASCAR Sprint Cup are holding practice and qualifying at Texas Motor Speedway and Pocono Raceway respectively.
