MotoGP - Indianapolis: Camier isn't the only British rider impressing this weekend - Scott Redding got his production-spec Gresini Honda into Q2 for the first time and qualified 11th.

That puts him three places ahead of Gresini's 'proper' Honda, which Alvaro Bautista only qualified 14th.

Quite how Bautista rode at all in qualifying is a bit of a mystery after an absolutely horrible high-side in morning practice that looked like it was going to injure one or all of his fingers, hands, arms, head and hip.

MotoGP - Indianapolis: Hayden's absence means Colin Edwards is the only American on the grid today.

We already know this is his last home MotoGP race as he's retiring at the end of 2014, but there were rumours that this would be his very last race ever and that he would bring his exit forward.

It's now clear that Alex de Angelis will be back in MotoGP to replace Edwards at Forward from Brno next weekend, but Edwards says he expects to race at Silverstone and Valencia at least.

NASCAR - Watkins Glen: In the 'cars to look out for' category, Regan Smith is 21st in Tony Stewart's car, which he started from the back of the grid, and Harvick is 22nd.

NASCAR - Watkins Glen: The leaders stay out under this caution, but the tail-end of the field from 17th-placed Martin Truex downwards take the opportunity to pit.

Leon Camier

MotoGP - Indianapolis: We're going to be keeping a close eye on an extra Brit in the MotoGP field this afternoon.

Former British Superbike champion Leon Camier is standing in for Nicky Hayden on the Aspar Honda as the American recovers from wrist surgery.

Camier started quietly on Friday, got himself acclimatised - and then starred in qualifying as he beat team-mate Aoyama by two places to take 16th on the grid for his MotoGP debut. Great stuff.

It's a belated MotoGP debut too, as Camier should've been Danilo Petrucci's team-mate at Ioda if the Italian team hadn't run short of funds. Just to complete the symmetry, it's under-rated underdog battler Petrucci who starts between the Aspar men on row six.

NASCAR - Watkins Glen: That early pitstop might not be a total disaster for Harvick. Both Ambrose and Kyle Busch were forced to stop early after they spun in yesterday's Nationwide event, and used an alternate fuel strategy to regain track position.

NASCAR - Watkins Glen: Harvick pits for bean bag removal. Now Kurt Busch slides backwards, with AJ Allmendinger and Earnhardt passing him.

MotoGP - Indianapolis: Yesterday Marc Marquez took his eighth pole from 10 events, today he'll chase his 10th win from those 10 grands prix. And based on his practice pace, his rivals think he's going to win it.

NASCAR - Watkins Glen: It seems that two bean bags, of all things, are lose in Harvick's cockpit. Not heard of that one before! Not sure we have an icon for that one either.

MotoGP - Indianapolis: The sun is firmly out now, and the Moto2 debris will be very swiftly cleared away after that delayed race as the MotoGP start is only just over half an hour away.

NASCAR - Watkins Glen: Busch passes Harvick for fourth, and Harv is slipping backwards at a great rate of knots. He finishes that lap in seventh.

NASCAR - Watkins Glen: No early dramas at the Glen so far, with Gordon keeping Ambrose at bay through Turn 1, with Johnson, Harvick and Kurt Busch chasing them.

NASCAR - Watkins Glen: Meanwhile, at Watkins Glen, the NASCAR Sprint Cup racers are on their final warm-up lap before today's event. Jeff Gordon starts from pole, with yesterday's Nationwide Series winner Marcos Ambrose alongside him.

Moto2 - Indianapolis: Right now, it's waking up with four laps left - Vinales gets alongside for Rabat for second on the pits straight, the points leader tries to hang on around the outside but slides miles off line.

Aegerter passes him too, Rabat dives back past but runs wide again and finds himself back to fourth.

Vinales now 1.4s behind Kallio, three and a half laps left. Is Suzuki watching...?

Moto2 - Indianapolis: Our current top two in the race and in the championship aren't part of the MotoGP silly season.

For Kallio it's 'been there, done that', after his largely unhappy 32-race stint with Pramac Ducati (and the works Ducati team during Casey Stoner's 2009 illness) five years ago.

Meanwhile Rabat has removed his hat from the MotoGP ring, announcing during the break that he had re-signed with Marc VDS for another year of Moto2 regardless of this year's title race outcome.

That will make him the first Moto2 champion to ever defend his title.

In the 250cc days, champions staying on was nothing unusual: Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo both won back-to-back titles in the intermediate class, while Marco Simoncelli tried to defend his 2008 crown but lost out to Hiroshi Aoyama.

Yes, the amount of silly season chat is a sign that this raceisn't as much fun as Moto3 was.

However, Rabat has got Kallio's lead down to under a second with five laps left, and he's bringing Vinales and Aegerter with him.

Moto2 - Indianapolis: Sandro Cortese makes it past Zarco to head the second pack.

Pasini's Forward team says he's on his way to hospital for precautionary checks after his incident.

Up front in this race, Kallio is keeping his lead over Rabat at 1.2s.

Moto2 - Indianapolis: We're already six laps into this shortened 16-lap affair and Kallio is sitting on a 1.3s lead over Rabat, with Vinales, Aegerter and Corsi tagging on behind the points leader.

Seven seconds back, Caterham man Zarco leads basically everyone else, with sixth to 18th inclusive all running right together.

Changes in that pack now as Brit Sam Lowes flies out of the middle of the group and through the gravel. He stays upright and continues in 26th.

Moto2 - Indianapolis: But the man most likely to make the Moto2-MotoGP move in 2015 is our current third-place runner Vinales.

Last year's Moto3 champion is expected to join Aleix Esparagaro in the line-up at the returning works Suzuki MotoGP team.

Vinales's current boss Sito Pons that the 19-year-old isn't ready to move up yet...

Meanwhile in this race, Pons has just lost his other bike as Luis Salom - who was one of Vinales's main Moto3 title rivals last year - has had a tangle with Franco Morbidelli.

Moto2 - Indianapolis: Speaking of Folger... there are reports that he's had a few calls from MotoGP teams about next year.

The 20-year-old German has had a couple of podiums in his rookie Moto2 season with the unfancied AGR team this season.

Moto2 - Indianapolis: Aegerter has lost out to Rabat and Vinales and is down to fourth.

Kallio has picked up where he left off before the red flag and is cruising away.

Herrin is into the pits and out.

Moto2 - Indianapolis: At Indy, the safety car is heading round on its pre-race lap again so we'll be underway once more with the Moto2 restart shortly.

Although it's been shortened, the race will still be half an hour late beginning, so there won't be much dawdling between its finish and MotoGP build-up starting. The main race is due off at 7pm UK time, 2pm local time.

Moto2 - Indianapolis: Pasini is now on his feet and walking into the medical car.

Moto2 - Indianapolis: Mattia Pasini, Randy Krummenacher, Azlan Shah and Anthony West are involved in the accident.

Pasini is receiving medical attention at the trackside. He's now sat up and is being checked thoroughly by the medics.

Moto2 - Indianapolis: Vinales now pounces on Rabat to take third place.

Rabat can't afford to have too careful a race - despite his four wins in nine races this year, he's only 19 points ahead of Kallio.

Moto2 - Indianapolis: The riders are on their parade lap now, and this could be a tough one for championship leader and invariably dominant force Tito Rabat.

He crashed heavily in qualifying yesterday and starts second behind his Marc VDS team-mate Mika Kallio.

Dominique Aegerter - who won his first race at the Sachsenring before the summer break - joins them on the front row.

Then it's Johann Zarco, Simone Corsi and the man expected to ride for Suzuki in MotoGP next year (more of that in a moment), Maverick Vinales.
