NASCAR - Michigan: The cars have rolled on to the speedway ahead of this evening's race. Here's how qualifying shaped up.

Marc Marquez
MotoGP - Indianapolis: 45 minutes until the main event at Indianapolis. Will this cheeky rookie win again?
He's been fastest in every session so far this weekend and he's won both races in America so far this season.
Moto2 - Indianapolis: Differing tactics for expressing disappointment here.
Espargaro rides back to the garage, takes his helmet off and looks sweatily disappointed on a chair.
Nakagami takes a long, slow, sad slowing-down lap with a lot of helmet-shod head-shaking.
Meanwhile, Rabat is grinning in parc ferme, and Redding is about to baffle America with a west country accent. AUTOSPORT's west country division approves.

Moto2 - Indianapolis: Yes, that does hurt for Nakagami. He thumps his bike and hangs his head on the slowing-down lap.
Espargaro congratulates team-mate Rabat. Grudgingly? Hard to tell under the helmet, but it wasn't a hug.

Moto2 - Indianapolis: Rabat takes his second victory after a strong drive back through the lead group.
Nakagami is second, that might hurt after leading by so much for so long.
Redding is third and Espargaro only just fends off Aegerter for fourth.

Moto2 - Indianapolis: One side of the Marc VDS pitboard has a message to Redding to "BREATHE". The other says "WANT IT!"
One lap to go, Rabat leads Nakagami, Redding and Espargaro.

Moto2 - Indianapolis: Bit more space between Redding and Espargaro this time around. A lap ago they were virtually riding the same bike.
Now Redding is gaining on the fading Nakagami.

Moto2 - Indianapolis: Espargaro and Redding come very close to touching as they go side-by-side through Turns 2 and 3. Aegerter then nearly taps Espargaro.

Nakagami tries to get back down the inside and they go into Turn1 side by side, but the lead is lost.

Moto2 - Indianapolis: Redding passes Espargaro for third in the infield.
This is building into a great climax as Rabat closes on Nakagami and the title rivals go wheel to wheel.

Moto2 - Indianapolis: Now Rabat is up to second, he's carving into Nakagami's lead. Five laps to go.
Moto2 - Indianapolis: That's brought Redding right onto Espargaro's tail.
Moto2 - Indianapolis: Rabat slices past team-mate Espargaro into second. So he won't be helping Pol's title bid, then.
Moto2 - Indianapolis: Redding is sticking with Espargaro but Rabat is now with them both and becomes the latest man to pass Redding on straightline speed.
Poleman Redding now down to fourth and separated from title rival Espargaro by the Pons man's team-mate Rabat. Not good.

Moto2 - Indianapolis: While that was going on, Nakagami has pulled out a 2.2s lead at the race's halfway point.

Moto2 - Indianapolis: As Nakagami starts to get away, Espargaro overtakes Redding into second at Turn 1. Is Redding in tyre trouble again?
Moto2 - Indianapolis: Remember Toni Elias?
Ex-MotoGP rider, Moto2 world champion, victor of that race at Estoril in 2006...?
Yeah, him. He's 23rd. This year has got to be even more depressing than last year for Elias.

Scott Redding
Moto2 - Indianapolis: Whatever the outcome of their Moto2 title battle this year, Redding and Espargaro will be up against each other in MotoGP next year, it was confirmed over the summer break.
Espargaro has a Yamaha deal and will be placed at Tech 3 to ride the bike vacated by Ducati-bound Cal Crutchlow.
Redding has announced that he has a two-year MotoGP deal in his pocket, but exactly where he is heading remains a mystery. We know it's not one of the three works teams or Tech 3, at least...
Moto2 - Indianapolis: Nakagami is holding a half-second lead over Redding, with Espargaro another half-second behind. It's all tense but calm at the front for now.
Moto2 - Indianapolis: Rabat was shadowing Pons team-mate Espargaro at first, but now Nico Terol and Dominique Aegerter have pushed through to fourth and fifth.
Nakagami continues to lead.

Mike Rockenfeller
DTM - Nurburgring: Here's how the title battle stands after today's race. Disasters for Bruno Spengler and Gary Paffett mean a big shake up and an even bigger lead for Mike Rockenfeller.
Championship standings after seven of 10 rounds:
1 Mike Rockenfeller 106
2 Christian Vietoris 71
3 Robert Wickens 70
4 Bruno Spengler 67
5 Augusto Farfus 66

DTM - Nurburgring: And with that, AUTOSPORT packs up and heads to Calais for the ferry home.
Quote
DTM - Nurburgring: Bruno Spengler after being put off the track by an Audi for the second race running:
"I can see what happened with the Audis today and so can everybody else. So I don't think I really need to comment."

Moto2 - Indianapolis: But it's Redding on pole today, beating Espargaro late in qualifying.
The Spaniard had a nasty crash on Friday in which his bike nearly landed on him several times.
Starting order: 1 Redding; 2 Espargaro; 3 Nakagami; 4 Rabat; 5 Corsi; 6 Terol; 7 Torres; 8 Schrotter; 9 Simon; 10 Cortese.

Gary Paffett and Pascal Wehrlein
DTM - Nurburgring: The dismal finishes of both Gary Paffett and Roberto Merhi can be attributed to each driver being given a set of slick tyres at their first stops - a point at which the rain was at its heaviest.
Each driver later switched to wets - when the track was drying - before making an extra top for more slicks.
Impressive then that Merhi had the best theoretical laptime of all.
Moto2 - Indianapolis: The Moto2 field is forming up on the grid.
Pol Espargaro has been clawing into Scott Redding's championship lead over the last three races and the Briton's advantage is now down to 23.

Breaking news

Karel Abraham
MotoGP - Indianapolis: Karel Abraham has withdrawn from today's main race due to pain from his violent crash on Friday.
He had qualified on the back row and it probably makes sense for him to give his recovery a headstart before his home race at Brno next weekend.
Moto3 - Indianapolis: Salom was in a fair bit of discomfort as he got off his bike in the Ajo pit. Fifth after yesterday's crash was a bold effort.
