MotoGP - Indianapolis: Pedrosa promised he'd be quicker this afternoon once he'd "loosened up". He was right, he goes fastest with a 1m39.582s, half a second clear of Marquez.
MotoGP - Indianapolis: Marquez now leads the way again, but only by 0.034s over Lorenzo.
MotoGP - Indianapolis: And we're back underway again with just over half an hour left.
MotoGP - Indianapolis: Practice is red-flagged, causing much bemusement initially as all the bikes are safely heading back to the pits.

The cause turns out to be a safety cone near the entry to Turn 1 that has fallen or been knocked over.
MotoGP - Indianapolis: An improvement from Lorenzo up front as he goes to 1m40.131s, 0.232s faster than Bradl.
MotoGP - Indianapolis: Just after Lorenzo pipped him up front, Bradl crashes at the final corner on what was shaping up to be a very rapid lap. He's unhurt and on his way back to the pits.

Dani Pedrosa

Dani Pedrosa

MotoGP - Indianapolis: Dani Pedrosa was a muted presence in opening practice this morning. He admitted that it was taking time for him to 'loosen up' after his recent injury and the long break.

"I was a little stiff on the bike so I need some more time to find the feeling again after the summer break.

"I'm sure this afternoon and lap-by-lap I will loosen up on the bike and feel more comfortable"

DTM - Nurburgring: Other than the 'roll-out' session, there's no DTM action today as European F3 and Auto GP fill the track.

So that means the DTM teams are in PR mode. Audi's already convinced Sebastien Ogier that he should come to the DTM when he's finished winning World Rally titles.

BMW's PR activities have been more low-key: its drivers have been to the fan campsites and had a tent-erecting contest.

Augusto Farfus and Joey Hand look pretty chuffed with their achievement.
NASCAR - Michigan: It didn't take long for opening Cup practice to be interrupted. An oil spill from Marcos Ambrose's Ford has brought out an early yellow.
European F3 - Nurburgring: There have just been four changes of provisional polesitter in under two minutes.

Sims, Kvyat, Rosenqvist and Marciello have taken turns at the top. Marciello is currently fastest on 1m22.584s.
European F3 - Nurburgring: Local racer Lucas Wolf has set the early pace from Andre Rudersdorf, but the established top men have yet to show their hand.
European F3 - Nurburging: The final FIA F3 European Championship qualifying session of the weekend has commenced.

Results from the session will determine the starting order for Sunday morning's Race 3.
NASCAR: The Nationwide Series is trying out a new road course venue this weekend. It's farewell to Montreal for 2013 and hello to Mid-Ohio.

Brian Vickers has just gone fastest ahead of Nelson Piquet and AJ Allmendinger.

The Sprint Cup and Truck Series are at Michigan, with Cup practice just commencing.
