NASCAR - Michigan: Earnhardt pits from fifth place - he comes back out in 16th place.

Logano has led the most laps of the race, having led 40 so far today.

NASCAR - Michigan: After that round of pitstops here's the top 10:

1 Logano; 2 Harvick; 3 Gordon; 4 Kurt Busch; 5 Earnhardt; 6 McMurray; 7 Keselowski; 8 Menard; 9 Kahne; 10 Biffle.

NASCAR - Michigan: Edwards' pitstop didn't go as smoothly as he would have liked. The Roush Fenway driver came into the pits for a change of tyres, but with a nut loose on one of the wheels, Edwards had to pit again one lap later. he drops to 27th and is running two laps down.

NASCAR - Michigan: Ryan Newman on a separate strategy has pitted on lap 123, having last pitted on lap 78. he comes back out in 17th position.

Harvick meanwhile has passed Earnhardt to take second place.

NASCAR - Michigan: All is fairly quiet on track at the moment, Logano is leading comfortably from Newman and Earnhardt.

Milwaukee

IndyCar - Milwaukee: The IndyCar race is still 45 minutes away, but in the meantime there is an interesting support package to keep fans entertained here at Milwaukee.

In addition to the Road to Indy categories, a makeshift beach has been built inside Turn 3 for a National Volleyball League round [pictured], while we've just seen a guy named 'Big Steve' win the World Rickshaw Championship in a one-lap race on the track.

It's all happening.

NASCAR - Michigan: So far it looks like Gordon and Logano have challenged the most for the race win, with Johnson, Newman and Earnhardt all having had stints at leading the race.

NASCAR - Michigan: Kurt Busch has moved up to seventh - passing Biffle in what has so far been a race-long duel with the Roush Fenway driver.

NASCAR - Michigan: While the yellow flags are still out, here is a reminder of the drivers who will make the Chase on race win merit:

Hamlin, Earnhardt, Harvick, Keselowski, Edwards, Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch, Logano, Gordon, Johnson, Almirola and Allmendinger.

Kenseth, Newman, Larson and Bowyer are currently in by having the most points without a race win.

NASCAR - Michigan: Under the extended period of yellow flags, Johnson has been able to visit the pits and find a temporary solution to his gear troubles. He is running in 26th position.

Nurburgring - European F3: Another event where this weekend brought big news for the narrative of a season was the European Formula 3 Championship's visit to the Nurburgring.

Max Verstappen, with his car freshly coated in Red Bull logos now he's under the drinks firm and F1 champion team's wing, was at the centre of it all, as usual.

He won race one, had an engine problem while leading race two, which landed him with three races of 10-place grid demotions for an engine change, but it didn't stop him coming through to third in race three.

In between that, Antonio Giovinazzi and Lucas Auer got a win each, while championship leader Esteban Ocon - who could've sealed the title this weekend - only had a sixth place, a third place, and a retirement from a multi-car first-lap tangle.

All of which means the title race looks like this with Imola and Hockenheim still to come, though not until October:

NASCAR - Michigan: Larson's retirement is a blow for his Chase challenge. Without a race win he is relying on points to make the Chase, with only three more races remaining to net a race win.

NASCAR - Michigan: The pitstops hand Newman the race lead, followed by Logano and McMurray.

The top 10 at half race distance are as follows:

1 Newman; 2 Logano; 3 McMurray; 4 Earnhardt; 5 Gordon; 6 Harvick; 7 Dillon; 8 Keselowski; 9 Kurt Busch; 10 Biffle.

NASCAR - Michigan: Several cars take the opportunity to pit under the yellows.

Gordon comes out behind Earnhardt having led for 27 laps.

NASCAR - Michigan: Dillon has overtaken Stenhouse for 15th place and already pulled away a significant gap.

Meanwhile, Logano has caught up to Harvick and looks to be sizing the second placed driver up for a pass.

NASCAR - Michigan: The Stewart-Haas team believes it was wiring issues that caused the smoke on Burton's car.

NASCAR - Michigan: Gordon has been attempting to lap Almirola for a couple of laps - the two getting rather close to the wall in the process.

NASCAR - Michigan: Burton has come into the pits with an electrical fault. He drops way down to 37th.

NASCAR - Michigan: Gordon is back in the lead, running 1.4s ahead of Harvick.

The current running order is as follows:

1 Gordon; 2 Harvick; 3 Logano; 4 McMurray; 5 Kurt Busch; 6 Keselowski; 7 Biffle; 8 Allmendinger; 9 Earnhardt; 10 Kahne.

NASCAR - Michigan: Johnson's attention seems to be half on the race track and half on the gearbox as he rejoins the pack.

MotoGP - Brno: If you're just catching up on the weekend's events, it's been a momentous one for the 2014 MotoGP season.

Marc Marquez will not be taking a clean sweep of race wins - he was beaten at Brno today and finished only fourth behind Dani Pedrosa, Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi.

NASCAR - Michigan: Johnson pits from the lead. His pit crew hands him a pair of vice grips to help him find the missing gear.

NASCAR - Michigan: The top 12 runners are all on alternative strategies. Johnson leads the pack having switched strategy early on in the race.

NASCAR - Michigan: Gordon loses position in the pitstops to Logano, who is challenging today for his second race win of the season.

NASCAR - Michigan: Paul Menard has reported a loose feeling in the car, and pits for tyres just ahead of the rest of the field.

Gordon pits from the lead which hands the number one track position to Earnhardt. Johnson having not pitted is now back up to second.

NASCAR - Michigan: The pit window is approaching, with Keselowski first to jump from fifth position.

It's a clean stop for fresh tyres for Keselowski, and Allmendinger follows shortly after for fresh rubber too.

NASCAR - Michigan: Kurt Busch takes a low line to overtake Biffle in the battle for sixth.

Gordon meanwhile has been biding his time, and finds the room to pass Logano for the lead.

NASCAR - Michigan: Usually by now we would've said that someone in the Cup field is already a winner this weekend having triumphed in Nationwide or the Truck Series, but this week the victories actually went to 'proper' Nationwide and Truck drivers.

Rookie Chris Buescher worked some fuel mileage magic to win the Nationwide race on the Mid-Ohio road course yesterday, while Johnny Sauter won the Michigan Truck round.

Kyle Busch, who has been winning in Trucks pretty much every time he turned up of late, was only fifth, but still top interloper.

NASCAR - Michigan: Just over a quarter of the way through the race and Logano leads from Gordon by just 0.1s.

NASCAR - Michigan: Johnson has reported over the radio some damage to the gear shift.

His pace has been strong in the first quarter of this race and will hope the damage doesn't become terminal.

NASCAR - Michigan: Harvick has repassed fast re-starter McMurray for third, but Logano and Gordon have broken clear up front.

NASCAR - Michigan: Great restart from McMurray, who surged back to third, then it's Harvick, Biffle, Kesewloski and a battle between Kurt Busch and last week's winner Allmendinger.

NASCAR - Michigan: A quick scoot through those further down the order who have had adventures:

Earnhardt is 13th after his pitlane tangle with Larson, who lost a lap with his repairs and is now 36th.

Edwards, who qualified so well then hit handling truble and flew backwards, is 24th.

Stewart's stand-in Burton is 26th, and Patrick is 34th after colliding with him.

Kenseth, Bayne and Kyle Busch bring up the rear after going many laps down in the pits getting repairs.

NASCAR - Michigan: Johnson and Newman, our men on alternative strategies, are pitting under this yellow. The other frontrunners all stay on track.

NASCAR - Michigan: Harvick made a great restart and is close behind the lead battle.

Then there's a gap to Newman, Keselowski, Gordon, Kurt Busch and McMurray in the next pack.

NASCAR - Michigan: Johnson might not be at his best this weekend, but he's not willing to hand over the lead easily. Logano is having to work very hard to get around him, and hasn't found a way yet.
