Rain
FR3.5 - Hungaroring: Forget our previous weather update. The rain has just got heavier again here in Hungary. Less than 10 mins to the start.
Credit to David Coulthard for mucking in - he's yet to change out of his Red Bull overalls after his F1 demo and has now taken to the grid with a microphone and a camera crew (plus an umbrella) for an impromptu 'grid walk'.

FR3.5 - Hungaroring: This time last year, today's front row starters Rowland and Gasly were sharing the head of the grid for the Formula Renault Eurocup race.
In a reverse of today's line-up it was the Frenchman on pole, and he won the race while Rowland slipped down the order and suffered a collision with fellow Racing Steps Foundation driver Jake Dennis on his way to eighth.

Stopwatch
MotoGP - Misano: Rossi has improved the practice four benchmark to 1m34.185s, and despite Lorenzo setting a fair few fastest sector times, the Italian remains on top with five minutes left.
Marquez is now down to seventh after an improvement from Stefan Bradl.
Marquez is now down to seventh after an improvement from Stefan Bradl.

DTM - Lausitzring: Spot the difference: one picture was taken on Friday and the other one today. That's how thick the fog is at Lausitzring at the moment!
The latest estimation for when practice would finally start was 12.50 after the previously mooted 12.35 passed, but that too has now been and gone. The new predicted start time is 13.30 UK time, but forgive us for feeling a little sceptical.
Crash
MotoGP - Misano: Latest man to crash is Karel Abraham. He's OK, but his Cardion Honda made it all the way to the barriers.
Stopwatch
MotoGP - Misano: Rossi is looking very strong, he improves to a 1m34.096s and is now 0.348s clear of Lorenzo and the rest of the pack.
MotoGP - Misano: A host of late improvements put Rossi's time under pressure, but he manages to go another few fractions faster still.
Green flag
FR3.5 - Hungaroring: Formation lap under way here. No mandatory pitstop in this race, so it's only a drying track (which at this stage looks unlikely) that will result in people coming in.
Checkered flag
MotoGP - Misano: Final practice over, and despite some very determined last laps from Lorenzo and Marquez, it's Rossi on top. This pole battle should be good...

The Mercedes official Twitter account has clarified that if the fog causes DTM qualifying to be cancelled altogether, the grid for Sunday's race will be determined by current drivers' points - which would be very useful for Marco Wittmann in his bid to wrap up the title this weekend.
Lights out
FR3.5 - Hungaroring: Rowland makes a clean start and heads into an early lead from pole, while behind him his title rivals are on the move.
Merhi leaps from seventh to second in the opening corners, while points leader Sainz goes from 14th to sixth in one lap! Spectacular stuff.
Rowland leads Merhi, Gasly, Stevens, Vaxiviere and Sainz.

FR3.5 - Hungaroring: Rowland and Merhi have left everyone else trailing here, and the Spaniard is now all over the Brit for the lead.
Lap two didn't go quite so well for Sainz. He lost a place to Sorensen and is now seventh.

FR3.5 - Hungaroring: The leaders both get well out of shape on the brakes into Turn 1, with Merhi losing a bit of time.
Sainz has re-passed Sorensen for sixth, and is straight onto fifth-placed Vaxiviere's tail.

MotoGP - Misano: Q1, for the slowest half of the field from practice, has begun. The top two make it into Q2 for a shot at pole.
Biggest names stuck in this session this week include Stefan Bradl and Cal Crutchlow, but Yonny Hernandez could be a threat as well given his recent form.

FR3.5 - Hungaroring: Merhi attacked Rowland for the lead into Turn 1, gets out of shape, runs off track, yet somehow hardly loses any time. Both of the leaders are right on the edge - it's nail-biting stuff up front.
Sainz has passed Vaxiviere and Stevens on consecutive laps at Turn 8, and is now P4.

FR3.5 - Hungaroring: Another attack at the outside of Turn 1 for Merhi, and again he goes off track and can't make it stick. He's giving Rowland a really hard time here for the lead.
FR3.5 - Hungaroring: We have a change for the lead! For the first time in several laps, Merhi didn't attack Rowland into Turn 1, and this time it was the Briton who mis-judged his braking and went off.
It was then a drag race to Turn 2, which Merhi - on the inside - was able to win. And he's already set about clearing off into the distance.

Fog starting to lift at the Lausitzring
DTM - Lausitzring: We're approaching what will apparently be the new kick-off time for DTM practice here in Brandenburg, and, as this photo suggests, the fog is starting to lift. The windmill is almost back in view.
FR3.5 - Hungaroring: Merhi is already more than 2s clear of Rowland out front, while Sainz is reeling in fellow Red Bull junior Gasly for third.
Vaxiviere completes the top five, having passed Stevens a couple of laps ago.

MotoGP - Misano: Crutchlow and Bradl shot to the top with their first runs, 0.189s apart, and they're looking pretty safe.
Hernandez is third, but is 0.6s adrift, just ahead of Aspar team-mates Hiroshi Aoyama and Leon Camier.

MotoGP - Misano: Redding nips into fifth in the session, between Aoyama and Camier, but the latter's just set the fastest sector one time of all.
FR3.5 - Hungaroring: All the focus here is on the Red Bull juniors fighting for the final podium spot. They're a long way behind the top two and well clear of those behind, so there's little risk at this stage of their scrap costing them a chance of a better result or letting other drivers back into the frame.
Perhaps Sainz is aware of this, as he appears to just be taking stock for the moment to see if he can find a weakness in Gasly's defence.
Merhi's lead is up to seven seconds now - he is in a class of his own out front.

DTM - Lausitzring: So, there will now be no practice at 2:30pm as planned. Instead, weather permitting, there will be a 15-minute practice starting at 4pm, followed by qualifying at 4:45pm. All times are local.
MotoGP - Misano: Hernandez jumps into second behind Crutchlow, pushing Bradl out.
MotoGP - Misano: Crutchlow isn't going for a final run, he's back in the pits and he's looking furious as both Hernandez and Bradl start improving... is Crutchlow going to be knocked out?
Stopwatch
MotoGP - Misano: Bradl goes quickest, then Hernandez beats him, they're through to Q2 and Crutchlow - our Q1 pacesetter until just moments ago - is out and will start 13th!

FR3.5 - Hungaroring: Merhi adds 3.1s to his lead on that lap. He's now 10.2s clear of Rowland.
Sainz has fallen back from Gasly, sitting 1.6s adrift of a podium place at the moment.
16 minutes plus one lap remaining.

Crash
MotoGP - Misano: Redding surged up to fourth in Q1 and was on an even better lap but it then ended in his second crash of the afternoon.
Quite a big one, but the bike took the brunt of the damage.

FR3.5 - Hungaroring: Apparently 3 seconds per lap isn't enough of an advantage for Merhi. He's FOUR seconds quicker than Rowland next time around, and now leads by 14.2s.

MotoGP - Misano: So Hernandez and Bradl get a shot at the top 12 places, here's how the back of the grid will line up:

20 Parkes

MotoGP - Misano: Ducati says there was an electronic issue for Crutchlow so there was no point sending him back out.
FR3.5 - Hungaroring: Merhi's lead is now over 20 seconds back to Rowland. Gasly is chipping away at Rowland but at this rate he's going to run out of time as he's still 11s adrift.
The pressure behind the Frenchman has eased slightly - Sainz has run wide at Turn 1 and slipped a little further back.
Most of the action is for the lesser points places at the moment, with Esteban Ocon and Jazeman Jaafar having a particularly lively scrap for ninth.
