In GTLM Oliver Gavin, who was in fourth in the #4 Corvette, has hit one of the Porsches. His steering has snapped so, he's out.

Watch Kyle Larson today - Ganassi's young sophomore (still looking for his first Cup win) broke the lap record in the first part of qualifying yesterday and though he couldn't match that in round two, he starts fourth.
And his car's livery for Sonoma looks like a bit like a 1990s shellsuit, which is quite endearing.

NASCAR - Sonoma: While the USC field is getting wet, the NASCAR Sprint Cup pack is forming up in the pitlane under a sunny sky at Sonoma.
We're about to go road racing with the oval aces - though in fairness, most of them are now very able on all tracks these days and the era of the 'road course ringer' popping in from sportscars and dominating are over.
Still it's a man with a great road course pedigree on pole. Last year's Watkins Glen road course winner AJ Allmendinger, who cut his teeth in single-seaters on the way to Champ Car, put JTG Daugherty on the top spot yesterday.
We'll mark that with a picture of him in a Forsythe Champ Car. Yes, any excuse.

USC - Watkins Glen: The red flag is out due to these severe weather conditions. All drivers are now lining up in the pitlane and if we don't get back underway, Wayne Taylor Racing will become our first repeat winner in the Prototype series.

USC - Watkins Glen: We have our fifth full course yellow here at the Glen. Track visibility is almost non-existent so, sadly for Ricky Taylor, his 25s lead has now been eradicated.

USC - Watkins Glen: Class leaders are still unchanged with 1 hour and 40 minutes to go. The conditions are not improving at all and unless something radical happens, such as a bodged pitstop, it looks unlikely that proceedings will change.
Those drivers will be hoping that the commentator's curse does not apply here.

Max Papis, in the second Action Express Corvette, is a lap down, so as we head in to the final two hours, it looks increasingly likely as if the current top three will fight it out for the win.

USC - Watkins Glen: In Prototype, Wayne Taylor Racing keeping Jordan Taylor out has certainly worked for them. He has jumped ahead of Scott Pruett and Christian Fittipaldi in the Action Express Racing Corvette. Good stop for the Taylor guys.

USC - Watkins Glen: The Prototype's are pitting again. Pruett of Ganassi Racing has come in for fuel and new tyres and Valiante for Spirit of Daytona is also in for a new set of boots and fuel. He also has to reset the electronics, which might explain why that car has dropped back from the front three over the course of the last hour. Joao Barbosa comes in and hands over to Christian Fittipaldi in the Action Express car.
One team who's luck hasn't changed is the number 60 Michael Shank Racing. They were competitive in practice on Friday but, today the car has been plagued with issues. John Pew is two laps down in the Ligier Honda LMP2. Not a good weekend for them.

USC - Watkins Glen: Crucial move in the Prototype class! Barbosa capitalises on a Jordan Taylor mistake and takes the lead. This changes the halfway bonus points for the NAEC for sure! Christian Fittipaldi and Joao Barbosa already lead those standings with 27 points so they will extend that lead.

USC - Watkins Glen: A strong drive from the number 24 BMW is undone in a matter of seconds. John Edwards had just taken over from Lucas Luhr but with low tyre temperature and cold brakes, Edwards could do nothing after locking up into Turn 6. He was a passenger in the resulting spin into the barriers.

USC - Watkins Glen: Impressive drive from the leading Corvette Racing of Jan Magnussen. Considering the awful Le Mans crash which led to them borrowing a car from Corvette's WEC customer team Labre, he's doing a decent job right now in third.
