64 min: Bottas logs an improvement and he is up to eighth in the Williams with a lap of 1m58.409s.
63 min: Even his spell doesn't last long as Perez retakes the top spot for McLaren, his 1m56.371s lap another eight tenths quicker.
63 min: Alonso positively blasts out of nowhere to go top on 1m57.167 thanks largely to a purple second sector.
62 min: Vettel is out there with a lot of flow-vis paint covering the right hand side of the rear wing, as he recovers from locking up at the final chicane.
62 min: Button improves his pace-setting time to 1m57.337, knocking a second off what he'd previously done.
61 min: Hamilton takes over briefly with a time of 1m58.251s.
60 min: The top nine are now faster than the time Button had used to go P1 some 15 minutes ago. A clear sign the track is now virtually dry.
60 min: But his team-mate Ricciardo now heads the list with 1m58.350s.
60 min: Vergne takes over in second place with a time of 1m58.400s as each driver logs an improvement as they come past.
59 min: Not for long as Button - on slicks - sets a 1m58.395s lap to knock off Rosberg by 0.005s.
59 min: Webber also improves but remains in second spot with a time of 1m58.929s.
59 min: Rosberg now tops the list with a time of 1m58.412s.
58 min: Maldonado goes sixth with 2m00.484s, but he slips down further as Ricciardo moves into fourth spot.
57 min: Hamilton pops into fourth spot with his first timed lap of the weekend - 2m00.279s.
57 min: Alonso goes out on hard tyres. That could be mistimed with a few more drops of rain falling now.
57 min: Vettel takes a run through the pitlane, as Webber moves into second place with a lap of 1m59.856s.
55 min: A few more drops falling now over the final sector, as Bottas spins completely at La Source. He recovers and continues.
55 min: Perez takes over at the top of the timesheets in 2m00.439s, just two hundredths quicker than Button.
54 min: Perez has just gone green in the middle sector, as you might expect as he's on slicks.
54 min: Maldonado and Sutil are also on track. Suddenly it is getting busy out there.
53 min: Vettel goes second to Button with 2m01.066s and then half-spins the car at La Source. He continues.
53 min: Rosberg and Hamilton join the racetrack, as Vettel struggles to slow the Red Bull down into the final chicane.
52 min: Webber is back on the circuit after a brief stay in the pits.
51 min: Third placed Vergne heads out to begin another run in the Toro Rosso.
51 min: Vettel is about to complete his first timed lap of the weekend so far. He goes 10th with a time of 2m04.815s.
50 min: Perez pits and goes out on what look like slicks as well.
50 min: Webber rounds the final corner... And comes into the pits. He aborts that lap.
50 min: Button is now out on slicks too. He asks how many other drivers are taking a similar approach.
50 min: Webber now fastest of all in the middle sector of the circuit as he continues to increase his pace.
49 min: Rosberg did head onto the track but has since returned to the pitlane.
48 min: Webber completes his second effort and moves up to seventh with a time of 2m03.956s.
47 min: Rosberg and Vettel are also on the track now, as Webber completes the first sector with a deficit of three seconds.
46 min: Webber completes that tour in a time of 2m10.191s and is 12th out of the 12 drivers that have posted a time so far.
45 min: The latest radar images suggest to us that there could be some slightly heavier rain approaching, as Webber works through his first timed lap.
45 min: Webber has rolled the dice to some extent, as he is on track now on a set of dry tyres.
40 min: More than one team is predicting a dry track within half an hour. We should be into a slick window soon.
40 min: There has been no move from Maldonado, di Resta, Massa, Rosberg, Alonso, Hamilton, Webber, Sutil and Vettel since the installation run.
40 min: You wonder whether Raikkonen's lock-up at Turn 1 was in part due to him having used DRS down the straight and carrying increased speed for the first time this session.
