Speed Happy with Early Points
iSport International driver Scott Speed was satisfied with his day's work at Imola today, claiming third place in the first ever GP2 race and the six points that go with it
The American, who has been very vocal recently about the technical problems he and others have suffered with their new cars, was pleased to have made it to the end of the race. "I'm just happy to have finished after the brake problems we had - it felt like the 24 Hours of Imola out there!" he said.
"But all in all it was a decent race for us - we picked up three spots during the race and got some good, solid points out of it, so that was pretty good."
Speed was also pleased with his own performance, noting: "I was all over [race winner Heikki] Kovalainen at the start of the race, so I know the speed is there - we just have to sort out the brakes. If we do that, I'll be quicker, and fifth on the grid is a decent spot for tomorrow, so there's plenty to aim for."
