Pantano furious with di Grassi
Giorgio Pantano has told GP2 title contender Lucas di Grassi that he has "made an enemy" after the pair clashed at Istanbul on Sunday
Di Grassi was handed a drive-through penalty for the incident during the sprint race. Now Pantano has vowed to make the Brazilian's life difficult as he battles Timo Glock for the title.
"I told him he has ruined my championship so, if he wants to win it himself, he can expect no favours from me," said the Italian, who believed he had an outside shot at the title before last weekend.
"He's closed the door on me many times, and now he's taken me out. I told him, 'you can't win the championship driving like this,' and he's made an enemy today."
Di Grassi believes that there was nothing he could do to prevent the incident at the hairpin towards the end of the lap.
"I was much faster than Giorgio, and he braked too early," said the Brazilian. "I apologised, because there was nothing I could do to stop in time.
"He was upset, but I lost my chances in the race too, so it's not just him who suffered. When he hit me at the Nurburgring, I didn't go around shouting about it."
Di Grassi is two points behind Glock with three rounds remaining this season, while Pantano is 30 points behind the leader in fourth place.
