Conway signs for Trident Racing

Former Macau Grand Prix winner Mike Conway will join the Trident Racing GP2 team next year

After a challenging year with Super Nova in 2007, Conway has decided to change teams and will join his new outfit for the first test of the year at Paul Ricard on February 28 and 29.

"It's great to have tied up my deal before Christmas and to be able to start the new year with all my plans in place, and to be joining Trident Racing for 2008," said Conway, who won the British Formula Three championship in 2006.

"The team have a proven track record in GP2 and I believe we can be competing for podium finishes at every race weekend. Having completed my rookie season I have knowledge of all the tracks and the experience of racing at this level, which gives me the foundations to be competing at the front right from the start of the season.

"I believe Trident Racing will offer me the opportunities to achieve my goal of winning the 2008 GP2 Series. They have a high calibre team with the resources and experience to provide me with the infrastructure that I need to do the job on track.

"I'm looking forward to my first outing with the team in February, as well as getting to grips with the new GP2 car that we will be running there."

Trident Racing have still to finalise who Conway's teammate will be.
