Campos sign Pantano, Petrov for '07

Italian Giorgio Pantano and Russian Vitaly Petrov will race for the Campos Grand Prix team next season in the GP2 series, the Spanish squad announced

Pantano, who competed in the series with the FMS International team in 2006, has been working with the Campos in the pre-season. The Italian finished in fifth place in last year's championship, winning the final race of the season in Monza.

The former Grand Prix driver will be joined by 22-year-old Petrov, who raced in the final four races of the season in 2006 with the DPR team.

"We start our third season in GP2 with the goal of winning races and see how far we can go," said team boss Adrian Campos. "Pantano is a safe bet because his quality is beyond doubt.

"I would have liked to have a local driver like (Adrian) Valles or (Felix) Porteiro, but the circumstances have resulted in them choosing another category for the future, and I wish them all the best.

"Petrov knows the series from last year and I hope he can adapt to the team quickly."
