Bruni Fastest in Practice
Gianmaria Bruni set the fastest time in free practice on his first full lap around the Nurburgring this morning
Heikki Kovalainen was second quickest, just ahead of Giorgio Pantano, both drivers ending up just one tenth off Bruni, who set a time of 1:46.879. BCN pairing of Hiroki Yoshimoto and Ernesto Viso rounded out the top five.
There were few incidents on a circuit that few of the drivers had been to before. Xandi Negrao spun and returned to the track early in the session.
Nico Rosberg limped back to the pits with an ailing car and at the end of the session. Fairuz Fauzy, Nicolas Lapierre and Olivier Pla had off track excursions.
With the top seven split by one second and the next ten drivers within another session, the teams are likely to be very close in qualifying later today.
