Artam Relishes Home Drive

Can Artam: "It was a nice feeling to be on this track, in my home town and in front of my own people - I think we've got a great circuit here. Morning practice was okay - it was a bit dusty but we managed to get our heads around it - it was not so good for me, but I think we'll be okay for the race tomorrow."

Q: You had a big spin at the end of qualifying - was that because of the rain, or something else?

Artam: "No, no - I was just pushing!"

Q: So after the two sessions, what are your thoughts on the track itself?

Artam: "The track itself is fantastic - it's a great circuit with a lot of elevation changes, some tough, tough corners with blind entries. It's quite difficult, quite technical, and it's a very nice circuit. I'm sure that a lot of the other drivers will have it as their favourite already. We've got a very special corner with this long, quadruple left hand corner - I think that's one of the most special corners in the world, and it's very, very challenging. It's a blast!"

Q: What is the feeling to race in your home country at last?

Artam: "It's a great feeling, to be honest - I've never experienced it before, so it feels a bit weird to stay at home, be in your own city, wake up in the morning and then you have to go racing - it's a bit strange and I still haven't adapted to it yet. But when you come to a fantastic track like this in front of your home crowd, it's a great feeling."

Q: What are your hopes for the race tomorrow?

Artam: To score a few points and get a good position for Sunday."
