Arden will stay in GP2
Christian Horner's shock appointment as the new boss of Red Bull Racing will not affect the continued participation of his Arden team in the GP2 series, autosport.com can confirm
Horner has replaced Tony Purnell and David Pitchforth in running RBR and, although it means he will have to relinquish his day-to-day role with his championship-winning Formula 3000 team, he has told autosport.com that the outfit will still take part in GP2 this year.
"Absolutely," he said. "Arden's programme will be unchanged this year and we are going to announce our drivers at the Autosport International show next week, which will be exciting and probably one of the strongest we have ever had.
"It is essential that Arden is competing for GP2 championship honours this year."
Arden has also been linked with an effort in the new A1 Grand Prix series and, although Horner would not confirm the news, he did admit that there were plenty of other avenues he was investigating.
"I am involved in other projects as well," he explained. "This deal [with Red Bull Racing] was structured in such a way to take that into account."
