Van der Garde dominates Spa test

Giedo van der Garde continued his dominance of the Formula Renault 3.5 series today when he topped the official test session at Spa-Francorchamps by over half a second

The Dutchman won both races at the opening round of the championship at Monza last weekend and is set to continue that form at Spa this weekend with a 0.605 second margin over his nearest rival on the first day of testing.

Bertrand Baguette finished the session in second place, ahead of GP2 Asia race winner Marco Bonanomi and Marco Barba, who headed a quartet of Spanish drivers.

Fortec Motorsport continued with Julien Theobald in their second car, although the German is still only with the team on a race by race basis.
