Barba ends Nurburgring test on top

The World Series by Renault teams completed on Wednesday their final pre-season test at the Nurburgring circuit

Spaniard Alvaro Barba finished on top of the times for the second day running, completing a strong pre-season for the Draco Racing team.

"Everything's going great, obviously," he said. "To get the fastest time yesterday and today was the perfect result. I can't wait for Monza."

On a sunny day Eifel mountains, Barba finished less than a tenth of a second ahead of Alvaro Parente, who was delighted with his work during the two days of testing.

"The car is good, the team is doing a good job and I get on well with (teammate) Julien Jousse," Parente said. "Everything's going great, but we need to keep up the good work at Monza."

Parente ended up ahead of Carlin duo Mikhail Aleshin and Sebastian Vettel, the German only running in the morning session.

Barba's teammate Milos Pavlovic completed a strong day for Draco by posting the fifth fastest time of the day, which thanks to the weather conditions and the few red flags was very productive for most teams.

The 2007 season kicks off at Monza in Italy on April 15.
