Tom Blomqvist joins F3 Euro Series field for 2012
Tom Blomqvist will compete in both the F3 Euro Series and FIA European Formula 3 Championship this year after sealing a late deal to join the series
The 18-year-old son of former World Rally Champion Stig Blomqvist will race a Volkswagen-engined Dallara F312 for ma-con Motorsport alongside his fellow Briton Emil Bernstorff.
Blomqvist, who became the youngest champion in the history of Formula Renault UK in 2010, spent last year driving last-generation F3 machinery for Performance Racing in German F3, but had his season cut-short by a back-breaking accident at Lausitz.
The signing of the two-time McLaren AUTOSPORT BRDC Award finalist takes the full-time entry list for the Euro Series up to 15 drivers ahead of this weekend's season-opener at Hockenheim.
Included in the full-time list are four cars from reigning champion outfit Prema, two for Mucke Motorsport and two for Carlin.
