Sato on pole at Silverstone
Takuma Sato picked up where he left off at Croft a month ago by taking pole at Silverstone for Sunday's ninth round of the British F3 championship.
The Japanese driver took a dominant victory at Croft in the last round and will be looking to pick up his third win of the season at the Northamptonshire circuit.
Series leader Antonio Pizzonia, after a disappointing outing to the Malboro Masters in Zandvoort, rediscovered some of his form to take the second spot, just 0.19s off Sato's pole time.
India's Narain Karthikeyan was the third fastest driver, while Italian Gianmaria Bruni was fourth.
Perhaps a little jaded from his recent Formula 1 and Formula 3000 outings, Tomas Scheckter, currently lying second in the championship, could only manage sixth place on the grid.
Matthew Davies was the highest placed British driver in eighth, with scholarship class champion Gary Paffett starting down in 18th.
