Round Three Moved to Monza

The postponed third round of the British F3 International Series will now take place at Monza on July 9

Rounds Three and Four of the championship were cancelled moments before they were due to start at last month's meeting at Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium.

It means that British F3 will run three races on the weekend of July 9/10, with Round Three joining the originally scheduled Rounds 13 and 14.

The move allays fears that the round would be held at a circuit not likely to be as good for overtaking such as Knockhill or Mondello Park.

The original grid for the cancelled race will be used to determine the starting order, with Carlin's Alvaro Parente on pole position.

Champion co-ordinator Jeremy Lord told Autosport-Atlas: "I'm pleased we have managed to replace the first Spa round with a circuit that offers good overtaking opportunities, just like the Spa race.

"The race will be manic at Monza, with plenty of slipstreaming."

Drivers who missed Spa, or join the championship before Monza, will not be eligible for the rescheduled race. Should any drivers withdraw from the championship before the round takes place, drivers will move up the grid accordingly.

Round four is tipped to run at Silverstone GP round in August.
