Race 2: Lapierre again

Lapierre trailed polesitter Adrian Sutil at the start, but when the ASM newcomer lost drive he inherited the lead. The slowing Sutil almost allowed team-mate Jamie Green to slip through into the lead, but Lapierre fended off the champion-elect and stretched out a comfortable advantage.

Green brought the lead down to under a second in the closing stages, but Lapierre was never under threat and the Signature Plus driver was delighted to claim his first back-to-back win.

Prema rookie Roberto Streit put Green under pressure through the middle of the race, but could not sustain the pace. Still, third place was a solid way to end the season. Alex Premat was fourth to ensure an ASM one-two in the series, while Alex Margaritis had a good run to fifth.

The best scrap was for sixth between Lewis Hamilton, Robert Kubica and Nico Rosberg - who drove a charging race to fight back after almost stalling at the start. Hamilton eventually prevailed in the three-way tussle after some fantastic wheel-to-wheel driving that was hard and fair despite the questionable showing of the black and white flag to Hamilton and Kubica for their tactics.
