Qualifying 2: Who else but Courtney?
James Courtney will start round 10 of the British Formula 3 Championship from his accustomed pole position at Croft
The Carlin Motorsport driver lapped the North Eastern venue in 1m14.801s, but his pace came under scrutiny this time from title rival Robbie Kerr (ADR), who has struggled with locking front brakes all day. It was Courtney's ninth pole from 10 qualifying sessions.
Richard Antinucci (Manor Motorsport) will start third, ahead of Fortec duo Heikki Kovalainen and Fabio Carbone. Alan van der Merwe (Carlin) was sixth quickest, ahead of Bruce Jouanny (Promatecme). Mark Taylor was eighth fastest from Michael Keohane (Carlin).
Scholarship Class series leader Adam Carroll will start 10th tomorrow, ahead of Clivio Piccione and Stephen Colbert. Gavin Smith had a big shunt on the exit of the chicane and mangled the rear of his car, and is a doubt for this afternoon's Scholarship Class-only race.
