Parente Wins Second F3 Race
Carlin Motorsport's Alvaro Parente won the second British Formula Three International Series race at Castle Combe to extend his lead in the Championship
Parente, who has already been signed by Portugal's A1 GP team, was under pressure for most of the race by Charlie Kimball.
However, Kimball suffered a puncture on lap 21 and spun into the field, yet thankfully avoided by the chasing pack. The accident brought the red flag out, and the American was removed from the race's classification, having caused the accident.
Championship returnee Danny Watts secured the second podium position, having started from from seventh on the grid, after his tenacity provoked drivers in front into making mistakes. After vaulting title contender Marko Asmer at the start, he was able to pass Ryan Lewis, Dan Clarke and Mike Conway.
Clarke finished third after failing to repass Watts, ahead of Estonian Asmer.
The race was briefly interrupted for the safety car, brought out to recover Tim Bridgman's Hitech Racing Dallara, which had spun into the circuit's crop field.
Australian Barton Mawer won the race in the National Class to further extended his lead in the title race.
