More shake-ups proposed for F3
The British Racing Drivers Club could propose further changes to the race format of next year's British Formula 3 championship, including the possibility of longer races and pit stops
The news follows the introduction of a new three-race format for next year's F3 race meetings, along with an investigation into the possibility of staging a race on the Rockingham oval.
Stuart Higgs, the BRDC's director of racing, said: "The proposed new three-race format has evoked many new ideas for the championship and it's great that teams are taking a pro-active approach."
Regarding the possibility of further changes to the presentation of next year's championship, Higgs added: "The message is 'lets consider everything and if it's viable lets do it'. The championship must fulfil the wishes of trackside and television audiences as well as the drivers and sponsors who are contributing so much.
"I would love to have a series embracing the three-race format, double-headers, long races maybe with a pit stop and if we can pull the Rockingham oval race off, terrific! That makes a calendar with something for everyone as well as adding to the value of F3 in terms of preparing drivers for F1 or ChampCar racing."
