Lola-Dome up for Donington
Lola has confirmed that its Lola-Dome Formula 3 car will contest this weekend's British Formula 3 season-opener at Donington Park with rising British star Danny Watts in the cockpit
Watts, who raced in F3 last year as a Renault Development Driver for Hitech Racing, has worked with Lola during pre-season testing to develop the new car, which also made a few outings last season.
He stunned the field by topping the timesheets at Oulton Park and was third at last week's F3 launch test at Brands Hatch, and Lola spokesman Sam Smith is confident that this year's car will perform better than the 2003 machine.
"Everyone has pulled together to make this happen," he said. "We are giving all our engineering support and the Promatecme team have been great. Danny really deserves a break after last season and we are confident that the car is a significant improvement on last year's car.
"We are very much looking forward to working with Danny at Donington and hopefully he'll stick it on the podium."
