Korea off, Bahrain on
The Formula 3 Korean Super Prix, scheduled for November 18/19, has been cancelled. Instead the Bahrain Grand Prix circuit will host a brand new event in the second weekend of December

It is reported in Autosport magazine this week that the South Korean event, first run in 1999, was cancelled after a change of government in the country. The new rulers have apparently been successfully lobbied by group objecting to the noise and disruption the event caused in the city of Changwon, where the track was situated.
It means that international F3 competitors will get a break after the traditional end-of-season classic Macau Grand Prix in China. Accorinding to the category's international coordinator Barry Bland, the Bahrain race has been introduced to replace the recently cancelled Dubai F3 race and that another venue will be found to replace Korea for 2005.
"It means we have Macau to give drivers experience relative to Monaco," said Bland, "and the then we go to an example of the latest breed of F1 tracks.
"It'll be warm, it's not too far away for the teams and the circuit is very well geared up to hosting this event."
