Carlin Motorsport's lead driver (in the absence of 2005 Champion Alvaro Parente) had no dramas on his way to a slightly narrower top spot for tomorrow's second race.

Double R drivers are next along, with Bruno Senna - still looking for his first F3 victory - heading Dan Clarke. But first-race front row man Danilo Dirani could only manage eleventh this time around.

Ben Clucas and Charles hollings scored a Lola 1-2 in the national Class, ahead of points leader Salvador Duran. Duran's challenger Barton Mawer will start fifth in class.
