Kerr: I could have been on the podium

British Formula 3 champion Robbie Kerr claimed he could well have finished on the podium in the Macau Grand Prix - had he not been taken out on the first lap of the second heat

The Alan Docking Racing driver could not avoid Bruce Jouanny's car at the Lisboa corner on the first lap after the Frenchman had hit the barriers and bounced back into the track.

And Kerr's frustration at the weekend, which was marred by a crash on his very first lap of practice on Thursday, was increased by the fact that he was quicker than Japanese F3 champion Takashi Kogure who went on to claim third place.

Kerr, who finished 10th in the first heat, said: "There was nothing I could to do avoid Bruce. I went to the right but he bounced out into the track and hit me.

"I am a little bit disappointed about the way the weekend went because I think we proved that we had a quick car in the first race. The fact that Kogure, who was behind me, went on to finish third shows just how strong we had got."

Britain's other drivers had a much better time at Macau. Danny Watts won the Asian Formula 2000 race on Sunday morning, while Jamie Green dominated the Formula Renault event.
