Hulkenberg secures pole at Mugello
Pre-season title favourite Nico Hulkenberg claimed his second F3 Euro Series pole position of the season in qualifying for the second round of the season at Mugello today
The ART Grand Prix driver eclipsed Manor Motorsport's Kodai Tsukakoshi by 0.166secs to earn pole in warm conditions at the Tuscany circuit in a session which saw the top 15 covered by less than a second.
Chrsitian Vietoris and Renger van der Zande made it four different teams in the top four by filling the second row of the grid for Mucke Motorsport and Prema Powerteam, although ART's Jules Bianchi only just missed out on fourth on the grid by one-thousandth of a second.
James Jakes joined team-mate Bianchi on the third row, with Edoardo Mortara the best of the Volkswagen-engined Dallaras in seventh place ahead of Prema's Dani Close.
Free practice pacesetter Mika Maki and Manor's Kazuya Oshima completed the top 10.
