Hohenthal sticks with Fortec for '08
Sebastian Hohenthal has decided to remain with Fortec Motorsport for another season as he bids to take the British Formula Three Championship
The Swede turned down a potential move to champion team Hitech Racing to stay with Fortec for a fourth consecutive year. He spent 2005 and 2006 in their Formula Renault squad before stepping up to F3 with them last season.
Speaking to autosport.com about his decision, Hohenthal said: "It was a hard decision to make and since I am my own manager I was doing all the talks myself, so it was difficult.
"At the end of last season I felt I had some unfinished business with Fortec and I wanted to continue with them. But when I tested with Hitech I was very impressed and it gave me a tough choice.
"I've been with the team for a long time now, we have a good relationship and I really believe in them. Of course everyone wants to win the championship, and I believe I can do it with Fortec."
Hohenthal is looking forward to renewing his working relationship with race engineer Stuart King, who ran him to the Formula Renault UK title in 2006, and also ran Fortec F3 rookie Marcus Ericsson to the FBMW UK title last season.
"I have a very good understanding with Stuart, we have a lot in common and it's good to be working with him again," said Hohenthal. "We start testing the new car at Pembrey tomorrow and we have to see what improvements we can make as quickly as possible."
