Hockenheim 2: Win for Van Hooydonk

Belgian Jeffrey van Hooydonk broke his 2002 German F3 duck with victory in the second race at Hockenheim. Race one winner Kousuke Matsuura crossed the line only one second in arrear, some 11 seconds clear of the rest of the field led by Robert Doornbos

Bernhard Auinger followed up his first race fifth place with a well-deserved fourth, ahead of Matsuura's PREMA Powerteam team-mate Cesar Campanico and championship leader Gary Paffett.

Despite claiming a solitary point, Paffett's championship lead has been extended to 32 points, with Frank Diefenbacher failing to finish and slipping behind Matsuura in the championship table.

Former Nordic F3000 driver and Toyota F1 tester Ryan Briscoe finished seventh, his best performance in his four races in the series, while fellow F1 tester Marcel Lasee of Jordan could manage only 17th.
