Green on Adria pole
Brit Jamie Green took his second pole position of the year after coming out on top in a tight qualifying session at the narrow Italian Adria circuit
The championship leader rose to the head of the timesheets with a solid effort of 1m10.338s midway through the session, but could never afford to relax and his ASM team-mate Eric Salignon only just missed out on stealing pole by 0.02s in the dying seconds of the session.
Nico Rosberg set the early pace but could not match his Mercedes-powered rivals in the final analysis. Alexandre Premat made it three ASM cars in the top four with a late charge.
Frenchman Franck Perera was the quickest rookie and starts fifth for PREMA ahead of French-Canadian Bruno Spengler. Lewis Hamilton was in the top six for most of the 30-minutes but was jostled down the reckoning at the end and will start ninth. Fellow Brit Tom Kimber-Smith had another trying experience and was the slowest of the 25 cars present.
