Euro Series qualifying rained off
This afternoon's qualifying session for the Formula 3 Euro Series round at Hockenheim was cancelled because there was too much standing water on the track for it to run safely
A 25-minute session will instead be run early tomorrow morning with race one scheduled to follow at lunch time.
The cars had been on track for practice earlier in the day, with Prema team-mates Dani Clos and Renger van der Zande finishing first and second in the session which started wet but dried out in the last 10 minutes.
But a downpour during the DTM practice session left rivers running across the circuit in several places and it was deemed too dangerous for 30 single-seaters to take the track together.
The teams agreed that it was a wise decision not to run the session, even though the first race tomorrow is at risk of being cancelled if the session cannot be squeezed in at the beginning of the day's schedule.
SG Formula team boss Stephane Guerin said: "There was no way we could have gone out with the circuit in that condition. There was water running across the track and the spray would have made it impossible."
