Engel wins finale at Rockingham
Maro Engel (Carlin Motorsport) claimed the final win of this year's British Formula 3 Championship with a convincing victory from pole position at Rockingham
Although Rodolfo Gonzalez (T-Sport) took the lead at the start, the officials decided that he'd moved too early and gave him a drive-through penalty. This handed Engel the race, as he held a healthy lead over team-mate Sam Bird to the end.
Sebastian Hohenthal (Fortec Motorsport) put in another charging drive, overhauling quick-starting Esteban Guerrieri (Ultimate Motorsport) for third place. He went on to challenge Bird in the closing stages, but couldn't find a way past.
Guerrieri finished fourth despite pressure from Atte Mustonen (Double R Racing). Alberto Valerio was sixth after coming out on top of an entertaining midfield scrap involving himself, Mario Moraes (Carlin), Stephen Jelley (Double R) and the recovering Gonzalez.
Sergio Perez (T-Sport) wrapped up a dominant National Class season with another victory.
