Asmer cruises to race one victory
Marko Asmer (Hitech Racing) absolutely demolished the field to take victory by 12 seconds in the penultimate race of the British F3 season at Rockingham on Sunday
The new champion got into the lead from pole and simply pulled away from there, building his gap at an incredible rate. It was never a contest.
Atte Mustonen (Double R Racing) had a similarly quiet run to second place, a position he also held from start to finish.
T-Sport's Rodolfo Gonzalez claimed third place at the first corner and held it for much of the race, before eventually succumbing to the charging Sebastian Hohenthal (Fortec Motorsport), who had fought his way up from 10th on the grid.
Sam Bird (Carlin) ran fourth early on before retiring with technical trouble, while Sergio Perez (T-Sport) took a straightforward win in the National Class.
