Engel takes pole for race two
Maro Engel claimed the final pole position of the British Formula 3 season at Rockingham on Saturday
This time the session was dry, although once again a red flag made an early appearance. Walter Grubmuller (Hitech Racing) was the culprit on this occasion, beaching himself in the gravel after a spin at Yentwood.
Again there were surprises. Rodolfo Gonzalez put his T-Sport car on the front row - though he was three tenths shy of Carlin's pole man.
Esteban Guerrieri recovered from a disastrous first session (he was slowest) to qualify his Ultimate Motorsport Mygale seventh this time around.
Sam Bird (Carlin) and Greg Mansell (Fortec Motorsport) share the second row, with Double R duo Atte Mustonen and Jonathan Kennard sharing the third.
Champion and - until now - Rockingham pace setter Marko Asmer (Hitech) could only manage 10th position, while Sergio Perez (T-Sport) took another clear National Class pole.
