Di Resta takes Zandvoort pole

Paul di Resta moved one point closer to the Formula Three Euroseries title when he set pole position for Saturday's race at Zandvoort on Friday evening

Di Resta (ASM) timed his best lap to perfection, crossing the line with 3:30 minutes on the clock and just before Romain Grosjean shunted into the Hugenholtz hairpin tyre wall, bringing out yellow flags.

De Resta's 1:31.955 was just a fraction quicker than previous pole-sitter Sebastien Buemi (Mucke Motorsport) on 1:31.973.

Nobody else dipped into that bracket, with the first of the 1:32 brigade headed by local driver Giedo van der Garde, whose ASM car was on pole for the first part of the session.

Sebastian Vettel, fresh from his BMW Friday driving role in Istanbul, was fourth quickest for ASM, ahead of Kohei Hirate (Manor Motorsport) and the sidelined Grosjean, whose car had to be craned off the track.
