Cheng confirmed at RC Motorsport

Chinese racer Cong Fu "Franky" Cheng has been confirmed at RC Motorsport, completing Volkswagen's eight car line-up in the Formula Three Euroseries this season

Cheng has been driving for Team China in A1GP this winter and raced in the National Class of British F3 in 2007. He said: "I'm very happy to get this opportunity and my goal is to be able to fight for podium places as soon as possible."

Cheng joins Jens Klingmann, Maximilian Gotz and Martin Plowman at RC, while Signature will also run four VWs for Edoardo Mortara, Stefano Coletti, Jean-Karl Vernay and Franck Mailleux.

VW motorsport director Kris Nissen believes the marque has a driver roster strong enough to take the fight to their Mercedes-engined rivals in its first full season.

He said: "This marks the completion of the line-up we've been shooting for. We will use the time up to the start of the season to prepare our eight drives and two teams as well as possible."
