ART announces GP3 line-up

ART Grand Prix has announced that it will field Formula 3 converts Esteban Gutierrez and Pedro Enrique, and former Formula Master frontrunner Alexander Rossi, in the new GP3 series this season

ART announces GP3 line-up

Frederic Vasseur's team has already taken its drivers to multiple championships in GP2 and F3, and hopes for similar success in the new GP3 category, which will make its debut at Barcelona in May.

Mexican driver Gutierrez drove for ART in Euro F3 last year, taking ninth in the championship. Like fellow 18-year-old Rossi, he tested for the BMW Sauber Formula 1 team last winter - both having earned prize drives for their previous successes in Formula BMW.

Rossi came to Europe last season after winning the FBMW Americas series and the World Finals, and was a race-winner in Formula Master before stepping up to GP2 Asia with Ocean for the winter.

Enrique failed to score in his maiden European racing season last year, having moved into Euro F3 with Manor following three years in the South American series, where he finished as runner-up in 2008.

"We are delighted to be able to announce our full driver line-up so early in the season," said Vasseur. "We are really happy to be able to count on these three drivers for the first year of the championship.

"Esteban knows ART GP very well and has done a fantastic job in single seaters and especially with us last year in the F3 Euro Series. Alexander is an extremely promising young talent and Pedro has shown a rare determination during all the tests we have undertaken.

"I am really confident that we will be able to fight for podiums and wins."
