Anderson to lead Status team in GP3
Ex-Formula 1 designer Gary Anderson will lead the technical side of Status Grand Prix's GP3 team

The Northern Irishman's extensive F1 career included stints with Brabham, McLaren, Ensign and Stewart, as well as a spell as chief designer for Jordan.
Anderson has worked with Status for the last three seasons in A1GP, during which time it ran Team Ireland to title success.
"GP3 is a new challenge for everyone, with a new car and new tyres," said Anderson. "A team of Status GP's calibre, with its A1GP success, will be very competitive. I look forward to an interesting season."
Fellow former Jordan employee Simon Cayzer will run the race team along with Anderson. Cayzer was formerly team manager for GP2 outfit Piquet Sports and more recently worked with the Canadian and Dutch teams in A1GP.
The Status team is co-owned by Canadian Teddy Yip, the son of Teddy Yip Sr, whose Theodore Racing team competed in F1 from 1977 to 1983.
"We are thrilled to be taking part in this fantastic new series," said Yip Jr. "GP3 will be fiercely competitive and is designed to give young drivers a great chance to progress their careers towards F1. We believe Status GP can provide the ideal environment for them to do just that."
