Adria race 1: Glock chimes in
Timo Glock pulled off a perfect passing move on surprise poleman Christian Klien to win the third round of the Formula 3 Euroseries at Adria in Italy today (Saturday)
A brief rain shower made conditions tricky early on and, although Klien (Mucke Motorsport) made an excellent start and led for the first few laps, Glock (KMS) got ahead at Turn 1 on lap five and never looked back. Fabio Carbone won a tussle with his Signature team-mate Nicolas Lapierre and also got past Klien with a smart pass around the outside of Turn 2.
With the podium positions set, there was a great battle further back. Cesar Campanico (SRT) came through to fourth, finishing just ahead of series leader Ryan Briscoe (PREMA) who had charged his way through from 10th on the grid. Lapierre, meanwhile, dropped back to finish sixth.
Nico Rosberg (Team Rosberg) crashed out at the chicane after a terrific dice with Alexandre Premat (ASM) during which they passed each other five times in two laps. Markus Winkelhock also went out after a clash with Bernhard Auinger.
