Mexico City will host the fifth round of the second Formula E season, using a revised version of the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez Formula 1 circuit.
The championship's first event in Mexico, which will also be its first race at a purpose-built venue, will take place on March 12.
Formula E's version of the track will feature a chicane shortly after the start line that leads into a looping right-hander, which is a shortcut on the main F1 circuit that would connect the start line to the straight between Turns 11 and 12.
The Formula E circuit will then take in the stadium section, before looping back round to the outside oval and into a chicane, which is the F1 track's new Peraltada.
Series CEO Alejandro Agag said: "We are delighted to be taking Formula E to Mexico City. This is one of the world's great cities, with a rich heritage and passion for motorsport.
"I'm confident the fans will create an amazing atmosphere and make the Mexico City ePrix one of the most memorable races of the season."
Alejandro Soberon, whose CIE events company was responsible for the F1 race returning to Mexico, described Formula E coming to the country as an "honour".
"Formula E races in some of the most important cities in the world and Mexico City will be the perfect place to show once again that Mexico has one of the best audiences in the world," he added.
Mexico's round completes the calendar of 10 confirmed events, though a race in Switzerland could yet be added, whereas the Berlin ePrix is in doubt.
Agag gave the group behind the bid for a Lugano race an extension to the end of November to raise the necessary funding for the event.
The German round is under threat after the national government decided in September to house more than a thousand refugees at the Berlin Tempelhof airport, which had been set to host the race for a second year.
