Formula E agrees free-to-air live television deal with ITV4
Formula E has agreed a deal with ITV4 that will ensure free-to-air live television coverage for all 10 rounds of its inaugural championship
In addition to live coverage of races, a 90-minute programme will include highlights from practice and qualifying, pre-race build-up and post-race reaction.
ITV will also broadcast highlights of each event, the rights to which it will share with an as-yet unannounced pay-per-view UK TV channel.
The new series for all-electric vehicles has already signed deals with FOX Sports and TV Asahi which ensures coverage in over 80 countries for the 2014/15 season.
Ali Russell, chief marketing officer at Formula E, said: "The UK is widely considered the home of motorsport and a very important market for Formula E.
"As such, with its unrivalled commitment to motorsport, ITV provides the perfect platform to showcase our new fully-electric series - which will also be racing in London in June 2015 - and to appeal to a new generation of motorsport fans."
The series revealed last week that its inaugural event in Beijing will be held on a temporary circuit running around the Bird's Nest Olympic Stadium.
Battersea Park meanwhile is the latest site earmarked to host the London round of the Formula E Championship in June 2015.
