Pla joins Sims and Bottas at ART
ART has confirmed that rookie Jim Pla will complete its Formula 3 Euro Series line-up for 2010 - as predicted by AUTOSPORT magazine last year - joining returnees and title favourites Valtteri Bottas and Alexander Sims
Recently-announced Williams Formula 1 test driver Bottas is staying on at ART for a second year, while Sims joins after a season with Mucke.
Pla graduates to F3 following two seasons in Formula BMW with DAMS. The 17-year-old Frenchman finished fifth in last year's European series, winning four races.
"Firstly, it is an honour to have the confidence of such a strong team with such an ample prize list," Pla said. "I joined them for several days of testing and everything went really well, I instantly had a very good feeling with all the team members.
"Coming from Formula BMW, there's nothing better than the F3 Euro Series and my aim will be to have a good first year and to learn as much as I can thanks to Valtteri and Alexander, who are two excellent experienced drivers."
ART will return to a three-car line-up in 2010 after fielding four drivers in recent years. Every F3 Euro Series title since 2004 has been won by a driver in an ART car.
