Racing Engineering confirm Leimer and Berthon for Abu Dhabi
Fabio Leimer and Nathanael Berthon will drive for Racing Engineering at next month's non-championship GP2 event at Yas Marina
Both drivers joined the squad for the recent post-season tests, with Leimer - who scored one win and two podiums with Rapax in the 2011 GP2 Series - finishing fastest on three of the four days.
"The two successful GP2 tests in Jerez and Barcelona with Racing Engineering have shown us what is possible if everything is working well," Leimer said.
"Therefore, I am happy that I have the chance to additionally test the potential of this team under race conditions.
"We have already tried different solutions for Abu Dhabi during the Barcelona test and I am quite confident we will make a good impression during the race weekend."
Berthon meanwhile contested the 2011 GP2 Asia Series with Racing Engineering, before opting to join ISR and compete in Formula Renault 3.5, where he scored one podium.
"It's almost a year ago I was racing in Abu Dhabi," the 22-year-old explained, "and I am looking forward to another race weekend there. It's a real pleasure to work with the team again.
"I am sure that everything will go well during the Abu Dhabi weekend as the car is good. I was competitive during the Abu Dhabi races last winter and since then I have gained quite a lot more experience."
