Jakes tops the times at Ricard
Super Nova's James Jakes was quickest on the second day of testing at the Paul Ricard circuit on Wednesday
The Briton posted his fastest time of 1:12.346 in the morning session, outpacing Luiz Razia by less than a tenth of a second after the Brazilian Addax driver was quickest in the afternoon.
The duo exchanged positions in the two sessions, with Jakes second in the afternoon.
Formula 3 Euro Series champion Jules Bianchi had another positive outing in the ART car, posting the third quickest time - being the best rookie - ahead of Coloni's Will Bratt and Ocean's Antonio Felix da Costa, who completed the top five.
Yesterday's pace-setter Michael Herck finished down in seventh after his afternoon time was disallowed when his car was found to be underweight. The same happened to Charles Pic in the Racing Engineering machine.
In the morning, the top 16 drivers were covered by less than a second.
The test, the final of the year, finishes tomorrow.
